MISSION
STATEMENT
The Accra Diocesan Council of Anglican Young Peoples Association
is dedicated to strengthening the faith of its members
by:
Promoting Christian fellowship and unity amongst
the Youth.
Providing and offering effective leadership to the Association
and the Church.
Fulfilling the tenets of the Great Commission through
Evangelism.
Building and enhancing the capacities of the Youth through
its programmes.

FORMATION
AND HISTORICAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE AYPA
The AYPA was founded/formed in 1902 in Canada by Reverend
Canon Brown, Rector of St. James Church, Ontario.
In
Ghana, the AYPA was introduced in 1951 by Reverend Father
A.K Nelson, who later became Assistant Bishop.The first
branch was formed at the St. Michaels and All Angels Anglican
Church at Korle-Gonno in Accra.The second branch was the
Holy Trinity Cathedral in 1952.
The
Accra Diocesan Council of the AYPA can boast of about 1,918 members in its 35 branches.
These branches are being supervised by the council's five achdeaconries namely:
